Meet OuR Red Fox

Red Fox Exhibit

Join us in giving a forever home to a very special fox at the Hungerford Nature Center.

While releasing wildlife is always our ultimate goal, this young fox cannot return to the wild. After being hit by a car, he was found disoriented—walking in circles and later lying near a road. Animal control intervened, and The Wildlife-Line stepped in to provide emergency care.

A veterinary exam revealed inflammation in his spine and brain due to trauma. Severely dehydrated and exhausted, he began to recover with the help of steroids and supportive treatment—but sadly, he will never regain his sight.

Despite all he's been through, he has shown incredible resilience and a gentle, affectionate nature. He never shows aggression, even when frightened or handled for care. He delights in playing with squeaky toys and, unlike most foxes, only sometimes tears them apart! 😆

Now, he’s ready for the next chapter: becoming a beloved animal ambassador at the Hungerford Nature Center, where he can educate and inspire visitors of all ages.
